Governor Punjab Babar Awan, Manzoor Wattoo, or Jehangir Badar?
By Rohail Butt • Jan 5th, 2011 • Category: Politics • 5 CommentsIt has been learned that President Zardari has put in his weight in the favor of the Dr. (?) Babar Awan as the next governor of Punjab, whereas Mian Manzoor Wattoo and Jehangir Badar are still lobbying hard.
Manzoor Wattoo, a chronic lota of Pakistani politics joined Pakistan People’s Party as the Zardari became president and he was promptly given the task of bringing the glory of PPP in Punjab along with Salman Taseer. Wattoo tried his best with hook and crook and lots of pressure and money and was a key player in governor raj in Punjab but he failed. Wattoo has once been the chief minister of Punjab and enjoys some backing up of biradari in central Punjab.
Jehangir Badar, though a diehard veteran worker and then leader of PPP from Lahore, the capital of Punjab, has never risen to the task even during the era of Benazir Bhutto. He is a timid and gutless politician who has even been sidelined in the PPP and he is just their for show off.
Dr. Babar Awan, who holds a fake degree and immense confidence of President Zardari has got a fair chance. Though he doesn’t belong to Lahore, but he is from Potohar Punjab and is quite aggressive. Lately, Babar Awan has been seeing working with late Salman Taseer as both tried to solidify PPP in Punjab and its a dream of Zardari to outsmart Benazir Bhutto and Zulfiqar Bhutto by making a PPP government in Punjab and Babar Awan is also hell bent on conquering Takht-e-Lahore.
As Babar Awan is in direct synchronization with the dreams and aspirations and objectives of Zardari, he is the natural choice. The only hurdle in the way of Babar Awan is establishment, which might force Zardari to choose someone else and that is a strong possibility.

when manzoor wattoo was c.m of punjab .He implement so much new policies in punjab govt. so, he survival his party with mainly efforts of workers.
