By Gul Raiz • Sep 19th, 2009 • Category: Politics • One ResponsePrime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Friday telephoned PML-Q Like Minded Group Secretary Information Kashmala Tariq and assured her that disciplinary action will be taken against Federal Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan for using non-parliamentary and abusive language against her.
Sources told Online that during the telephonic conversation, the prime minister expressed his concern and disappointment over the abusive and unethical language used by the federal minister. He said that strict disciplinary action would be taken against the minister, adding on the behalf of the government, he was apologising to her.
The PM said that no minister was allowed to use such kind of language, adding unethical language in live programme (Talk Show) was a matter of serious concern. Sources say that PML-Q Like Minded Group Secretary Information Kashmala Tariq thanked the prime minister for his assurance, hoping that strict action will be taken against the federal minister while all investigations will be held in a transparent manner.
It is pertinent to mention Federal Minister for Population and Welfare Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan of the PPP used un-parliamentary language about Kashmala Tariq of the PML-Q during a private TV programme, a few days back.
The political parties represented in parliament have strongly condemned the use of obscene and unethical language by Federal Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan against the PML-Q legislator Kishmala Tariq besides calling for disciplinary action against the federal ministers as the derogatory remarks given by her have breached the privilege of women folk.
Expressing her stance, PML-N member of National Assembly Nuzhat Sadiq said she was much grieved over use of abusive language by Federal Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan against Kishmala Tariq. “Firdous Ashiq Awan represents government as the federal minister; therefore, she should not have used such vulgar language in the media,” she added.
PML-Q Senior Vice President Nilorfar Bakhtiar said the use of unethical language by Firdous Ashiq Awan against Kishmala Tariq had breached the privilege of women parliamentarians. This will provide an opportunity to those forces to gag the voice of women parliamentarians which were already opposed to participation of women in politics, she underlined. PPP Information Secretary Fouzia Wahab expressed regrets over use of immoral and un-parliamentary language by Firdous Ashiq Awan.

I have watched the T V programme, language unsed by Ms Fardous Ashiq Awan
against Ms kashmal Tariq was highly objectionable and vulgar and unbecomming
of a person who unluckily happen to be peoples reprsentative and a federal minister,
Such attitude on the part of some politicians pave the way for dictators to grab power.
Ms kashmala Tariq is intelligent and sobre hence respectable woman. The language used
against her is highly condemnable and I condemn it ouright.
