For Blogging, Don’t Leave Your Day Job

If somebody tells you that it’s true that most of the people make money from blogs, then he is true. If somebody tells you that earning from the blogging is fun and contains a very refreshing feeling of independence, then its also very true. But if somebody suggests you to leave your job and focus and depend exclusively on blogging, then run away from him as fast as you can.

Especially in Pakistan, things are not that stable and firm that you can be a full time blogger. The options are very limited and the Internet traffic is not really ripe for the blogs. Things are improving but their pace is slow. But change is inevitable and I believe that in coming couple of years, the blogging horizon will change and the monetization of the blogs will be profitable.

But if your blog is in nascent stages, and you are good writer and believe that you have got sound topics, great writing skills coupled with online marketing skills, persistence and perseverance, even then don’t leave your day job. Keep your options open and varied. First build you blog, make the incomes steady and smooth. Make contingency plans and have backup and then venture for a full time blogger.
