Fooled By Democracy
By Irfan Waheed • Feb 21st, 2010 • Category: Politics • 3 CommentsSo at last the sneering former dictator Musharraf has announced that he wants to play his role with the help of people’s power and yes through democratic way. Who knows democracy and its ways better than the dictators?
Just after two years of his departure, Musharraf is once again ready to jump into the practical politics, and is orphan kid PML-Q and dictator-friendly MQM are there to welcome him. JUI-F and ANP will swing where the power and pricks would be. Establishment and the America would also consider Musharraf a serious contender for a change.
The current workings of the present Zardari regime are enough to make even the diehard democracy-lover nauseated. The people who are ruling Pakistan are no more than petty crooks and their justified place is in jail instead of the parliament. All that scum about Charter of democracy, fruits of democracy, and other democratic crap has lost its meaning as the people are fighting for their survival.
Any dictator, whether the former or the newer would thrive in this situation.

Recently Ex-Dictator mentioned with a sarcastic joke about the incompetence of the current rulers. He was skeptical and could see that he was having a time of his life seeing whats going on in Pakistan specially after our political heroes have been championing the democracy and its effects on the poor population of pakistan. Democracy was something used by Bush to usher a new person to who can effectively follow up on orders, seems like the new administration is having trouble with the current setup.
Everything happens in our sad country for a reason and if the current setup is changed for a new one that would also happen for a reason.
You people are not even qualified to talk of democracy. In 63 years you people have hardly given democracy a chance to survive. Its simple democracy is long drawn out process and it takes its time to nurture and lay roots deep down the ground. So patience is important and you will have events that it isnt working.
But it takes time but when its firm and rooted there is nothing like it.
Give it a thought.
completely agree with sukhedo
democracy will fail and fail again, for it to succeed, but if the dictator comes in to power then the institution ceased to exist, therefore there is no chance for failure
that has been the case in the last 60 years
and its the impatience of the people which reduces the chances of accountability.
