Fix the Direction
By Engr. K. Shahzad • Jul 16th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 2 CommentsStarting from point A (Mukhtaran Mai), walk toward 5 km north (Kalabagh) followed by 5 km east (Akber Bugti), then 5 km south (Sharia) and 5 km west (Cricket) at the end. Where will we stand? Yes at point A indeed. If we take these direction as our efforts for several issues which we speak of time to time. And 5 km as symbol of our efforts which we make to explore that issue and fight for that. Then comes the other issue and we start walking that direction and then another and another….
I wonder why we are doing these unfinished jobs. Why don’t we concentrate our energies at one point and devote our full life for solving one problem. We talk of Islamic values, democracy, education, social justice, morality, charity and lot others. Each issue is worth life devoting but why we move on. Why it is so?
Why not to stick to one issue like Abdul Sattar Edhi (Charity), Like Aitzaz Ahsen (Judiciary independence), like Hakeem Muhammad Saeed (education). Why we are afraid of life term commitments?
Let’s plant one tree and water it till it become mature tree and will give us the fruit instead of keep on planting many and leaving them to die, to have the same vacant place to plant next year.
