Fazlur on Political Business

By Farid Masood • Aug 27th, 2008 • Category: Politics • One Response

Yesterday, Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) has parted itself away from government coalition comprising of PPP, PML(N), JUI(F) and ANP. By this announcement of PML(N) now the game for election of the person for Office of the President of Pakistan has become red hot.
PML(N) has announced its candidate Mr Justice (Retd) Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddqui for Presidential elections. While PML(Q) has announced the name of Mr Mushahid Hussain.

PML(N) and PML(Q) may get closure, which may have an effect on Punjab government also. PPP has to sit on opposition benches in this case, or PML(Q) may opt for a deal with PPP (but it is much unlikely). If this coalition occurs then they both may manage to break some votes of Asif Zardari from Balouchistan Assembly. Balouchistan assembly has maximum impact in electroral college for the president as they have 65 votes. This is the smallest assembly out of four provinces and therefore, its votes strength is 1:1. In case of patch between both the parties PML(Q) may width draw its candidate Mr Mushahid Hussain from the Presidential election campaign and support Mr Justice (Retd) Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui.

In Punjab, PML(Q) votes may also go against Asif Zardari, but at this time PML(Q) shall look for a maximum political advantage, whether it can take it from PML(N) or PPP.

Moulana Fazl-ur-Rehman seeing the opportunity has announced that we have struggled a lot to keep the coalition with PPP but we are unable to continue it. Fazlur is a political businessman and he knows how to en-cash the time into money. By this announcement he had put enormous pressure on PPP and if he remain with PPP this would be based of PPP’s offer of perks and privileges to Fazlur. He know the art to convert political advantage into diesel permits. Lets see what he does now?

  1. Maulana Diesel…

Farid, whether PMLQ and JUI will support PPP or PMLN… I will keep my reservations for these parties…who topples in a minutes. These same type parties bring us to this situation. They works for their agendas and benefits. They changes their affiliations for ministries and seats only. So these kind of parties should be never appreciated.

We have to understand difference between good and bad. How we can trust on those, who changes their affiliations in a days. Do they are sincere and will address public issues… No and Never. They only want seats and money..nothing else.
