Even in my weakest faith, I condemn all atrocitiesBy Rizwan Nasar • Aug 9th, 2012 • Category: Politics • 2 Comments
Some think that the worst place on earth is North Western border region of Pakistan, where terrorists roam freely and kill without remorse. A terrorist is a terrorist no matter where he resides. Their intention is just one to kill and spread fear among people. In recent times, we have seen home grown terrorists in Norway, in Colorado and now in Wisconsin. The latest senseless killing of Sikhs in their place of worship is just despicable. How can anyone hate and kill a group of innocent people who go about doing their business without bothering anyone? Where is this hate coming from? What is the motivation? What are their teachings? Does the war on terror only apply in the remote parts of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Yemen? Don’t we have to look in our own backyard and see who is preaching hatred in the guise of free speech? What prompts a sick mind to pick up weapons and use them against innocent? There will be no peace on planet earth unless each one of us look deep into our own soul and see what is wrong with us. I would like to share a quote from our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He said, “when you see evil being done stop it with your hand and if you cannot do that raise your voice against it and if you cannot even do that condemn it in your heart; it is the weakest form of faith.” I raise my voice against all atrocities being committed in the name of religion, culture and nationalities… Even in my weakest faith, I condemn it!
