By Guest Blogger • Jul 31st, 2011 • Category: Misc • 20 CommentsThe ETEA, or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Educational Testing and Evaluation Agency is servicing the students and the people of the most underdeveloped province of Pakistan in an exceptional way and has done wonders in the field of education and the testing and its performance has been exemplary.
ETEA is an educational entity established in November, 1998, by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It is supervised by a Board of Governors, headed by the Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Minister for Higher Education is the Vice Chairman and Secretary Higher Education Department is one of the members. The Executive Director ETEA is the Secretary of the Board. With that the governor takes special interest in the ETEA, and so far nothing major scandal has comeforth regarding ETEA.
Initially, ETEA was established to undertake administration of Entrance Tests for admission to Engineering and Medical institutions of the province in place of external testing agencies. However, the scope of activities and the objectives for the ETEA were broadened much beyond the Entrance Tests as stated in the Ordinance, which is available at the ETEA website.
In nutshell, ETEA has to atalyse reforms in the examination and testing systems, impart training on these endeavours and extend the use of its electronic facilities to other institutions to bring in objectivity, transparency and efficiency.
ETEA conducts Entrance Tests for admission to:
- Engineering Colleges and Engineering University of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and
- Medical & Dental Colleges of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
