Education Budget 2009-2010
By Rana • Jun 25th, 2009 • Category: Politics • One ResponseThe government plans to spend Rs. 4.1 billion in total on primary education and Rs. 22 billion on HEC.
Assuming that around 25% of our population (40 million) is primary school going and lets assume that 10,000 people qualify for HEC scholarships (most of whom dont return to Pakistan) - we are spending Rs. 102.50 per child on primary education and Rs. 2.2 million on one PhD student. The question is do we need them? Don’t the majority of our population deserve to have basic primary school education??????
I guess our leaders have got no CLUE what is needed to fix the problems of our nation. They have got their priorities on the wrong side of everything. Why would they care as long as their kids can study in Aitchison…everything is fine.

The priorities of each governments is quite obvious through its budget figures.
our education budget for People of Pakistan is 26,1 billion rupees for 16 crore people of Pakistan.
our defense budget for 2009 with 15% rise is 223 billion rupees for maintaining 45 cantonments of Pakistan and taking care of 5,50000 men and families.
These figures gives us right answer that why Pakistan is rated in 160th country among 177 in literacy level of world.
These figures give us idea that in military expenditures we are 23rd out of 177 countries.
So this year we have allocated extra 30 billion rupees to our army for countering insurgency in local levels,
No body in assembly has any courage that why this money has been taken away from meager developmental funds to our military god.For fighting with handful of home grown terrorists how our intelligent military men justified in front of duffer bureaucracy and coward political representatives?
Our real problem before insurgency is load shedding that is making extreme chaos in life of common man. So why these 30 billion is not prioritized to transfer it to common man rather than white elephant of country for handling only 10000 terrorists.
