Dream Eid Package By Our Leaders
By Rohail Butt • Oct 2nd, 2008 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 2 CommentsMay be I am romanticizing way too much, but I wish that our leaders irrespective of thier national standing, identity, differences, stature and point of view would have spent the Eid time sweetly and passionately in the war torn Swat, Dera Bugti and FATA area. Wouldn’t it be nice, if Nawaz Sharif would have been in the Angoradda with the local tribes and the men of security forces inviting earnestly local Talibans to come and have Eid prayer together, Asif Ali Zardari in the Dera Bugti with the angry factions of Balochistan relishing the Sajji in the Eid lunch, and rest of the leaders scattered throughout Swat, Kalam, Kohat, Darra, Bajaur, Wana, Khbyer and Kurram Agency.
It is too much to ask? Was it necessary to perform Umrahs in Saudi Arabia for Nawaz Sharif, when his countrymen needed him most? He is the only genuine leader left with some potential to steer this country out of the scrooge of begging, as he has got the guts to look the super powers in the eye. But he disappointed the nation very much. If he really wants to remain in the national politics, he must play his rule in the active opposition rather than spending his time in London or Dubai or in the Saudi Arabia. He has spent enough time in those places in exile.
Asif Ali Zardari is right there at the helm of the affairs. He must believed his luck that he has become the president of this unfortunate country, and now as he has become that, he must act like one, or at least should try to do so. Instead of pleading with America and praising the beauties and the altruism of the personalities in United States, he must come to the FATA and other restive areas and appreciate the courage and hardy and fiercely independent people inhabiting the toughest of mountainous terrain of these areas.
Others regional and solo birds like Asfund Yar Wali, Imran Khan, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, Fazlur Rehman, Altaf Hussain, Abdul Hai Baloch, and host of others are pretty much useless but when day dreaming it could also be expected some good from these pawns, as they could at least wield their power in their limited circle to foster peace and harmony.
Our forces are apparantly playing a good part by keeping themselves out of the political corridors, and one can only wish that they carry on with their streak in the forseeable and distant future. That’s very nice of them. But our politicos must either learn the lesson, and really become the leaders, or they must give way to the fresh blood, and please not the second or third tier of their parties, as they all are more idiot and incomptent then them.

PML_N ..Nawaz Sharif, is to be blamed for the present crises… he should have seen it coming ..AZ becoming the new president or was this a trade-off for keeping his power in Punjab safe…
His is the only party that can effectively work towards restoration of judiciary and bring CJP Iftikhar Chaudary back…. if Nawaz Sharif backs down on this one than he should move permanently to London and we should all help him to pack.
i remember when i was young ;HAJEE used to be a sort of respected elder from Muslim community who performed haj just before his death. Normally some people used to perform haj with a poor in tow as also performing marriage of a poor woman along with their daughter’s marriage.
Nowadays with aircraft flying some Muslim leaders in india go to Saudi arabia at government expense at the slightest pretext while poor have to wait for their turn as there is quota now.
Indian Muslim rulers like Nizam,Prince of Arcot and other nawabs used to be respected elders and provided resting places in Mecca and Medina.
