Dr. Shahid Masood Hints at Zardari’s Assassination???

By Altaf Khan • Sep 24th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 8 Comments

I was shocked and baffled as I read along the latest article of leading columnist Dr. Shahid Masood in the Daily News. I will quote the man verbatim here:

A Pakistani, who knows a lot about developments in Pakistan and the US scene, said that apart from this purely legal and domestic scene, there were four possible ways through which Zardari could exit. These ways were repeated by others who had nothing to do at all with the previous source. They are: one, impeachment; two, voluntary resignation in the wake loss of credibility; three, ‘natural’ or man-made elimination of the president, and, four, an Army coup. The impeachment and coup scenarios are considered non-starter and impossibility.

Dr. Shahid Masood is in Washington right now invited by the National Defence University (NDU) for a two-day seminar on the anniversary of 9/11.

For Godsake, Dr. Shahid, have mercy on this nation. We have seen enough destruction and mayhem after the assassination of the Benazir Bhutto and Sindh was on the verge of collapse. Now God forbidden, if again any such things happens, it would be very detrimental for the stability and even survival of the country. You should be very careful in what you write.

Why just quote anybody you meet in your column, Mr. journalist? Well I could, he could, she could, they could say anything, but that doesn’t make a news or even a serious opinion. What sort of journalism is this?

  1. No no. Stability would be fine. Everyone would heave a sigh of relief and suddenly things will start looking up for Pakistan.

I hope this thug gets assassinated :)

  2. I think the resignation would do. Its a peaceful way.

  3. No more encounters… put such suspects on trial if really there any crime is committed.

  4. hi Altaf,
Actually Zardari is getting a warning from Saudi funded groups and also USA. Both do not like him cosying upto Iran, China. Only Indian cowards donot have the stomach to oppose Americans.
    I expect a coup soon

  5. I think Dr. Masood is repenting now for the things he did on his channel against Musharraf. You will see every other anchor will soon start remembering Musharraf’s govt. period.

  6. that is end of all paid toutes nothing surprise for man eaters who eat their mother land,

  7. the irreverence of comments like the first are the reason for this country’s civil unrest and political instability. this is why we have lost the value of human life. Shahid Masood should be ashamed of himself, and owes not only Zardari, but the nation an apology for his thoughtless stupidity.
And to answer your last question: this sort of journalism, my friend, is known as YELLOW JOURNALISM. The kind people like Shahid Masood, Ahmed Quraishi, and Shireen Mazari are masters of.

  8. With the growing resentment in the echelons of power Zardari might be ousted from the office sooner or later. But the point to ponder is where are we heading to?changing of faces before time has become the norm.Soon the one replacing Zardari would become apple of discord and yet another conspiracy hatched to oust him!One wonders when will all this end?
