Dr. Shahid Masood Finds a Whipping Boy
By Fatima Tassaduq • Jul 22nd, 2008 • Category: Politics • 12 CommentsThere is a very famous statement of Punjabi which roughly translates in English like this “Those who were actually doing it , ran and those who were just taking a bath, got in trouble.” That was what happened with Deputy Managing Director of Pakistan Television, Shahid Mehmood Nadeem.
Shahid Nadeem was sacked by the newly appointed Managing Director PTV Dr. Shahid Masood due to the premier’s poor speech on the state television. Prime Minister of Pakistan fumbled and bungled throughout his speech, and at one point he clumsily shifted from teleprompter to the hard copy of the speech and the officials of the PTV tried their best to fill that awkward moment with the filler of Himalayan Mountains. But the damage was done, and the whole world smirked over the bloopers of Makhdoom Sahib.
After the embarrassing speech show, which was also failed to attract the public attention as it was nothing more than the diatribe of elusive promises and the self-praise, Prime Minister stormed out of the speech room and did the dressing down ceremony of all people from top to bottom, including the Dr. Shahid Masood who is still enjoying his first fat salary with perks.
After the PM’s departure, the Dr. Shahid exuded oceans of flames from his nostrils and called upon a meeting which went on for hours and hours, and then they all did find the scapegoats. The Incharge of Information Technology was suspended along with some technical men, and the main brunt-receiver was the deputy MD.
Dr. Shahid Masood must accept the fault, and if he has got no gal to resign himself over this universal display of mismanagement, inexperience and lack of professionalism, then he at least should learn that arranging the premier speech is a concerted effort which is done and rehearsed well in advance with the coordination and collaboration of the information minister, information secretary, press secretary, principal information officer, and chiefs of the state-owned TV, Radio Pakistan and the APP.

It is better to not give your final verdict about this man so early. You hardly knows him so it is better to be silent observer. This is big problem of our nation that we starts licking people on one good work and in a same manner we starts hating him/her if not reaches our mountain high expectations…rather our self centred wishes.
Give him time.

Why you have problem with his salary. Is you are doing work free of cost. People should be practical because no body helps at a time of need. He is not running after money at all. Please see his profile and then comment that whether he joined PTV for money or some thing else. Be realistic and let people do their work because few people among them are noble. Don’t put all bad and good in one line.

While the PTV may share blame for not doing a test run of the speech, the major portion of the blame for the farcical speech should rest with PM Gilani.

Meray Mutabiq was not as impressive show as his “VIEWS ON NEWS”. I still miss his early days VIEWS ON NEWS program. Whether you agree on not but this man always comes on TV with knowledge and research. He is dedicated to his profession. I personally knows that he studies lot of books and see references before doing program on specific topic. END OF TIMES is one example for us.
Guys relax it was just to divert you and make you realize that a single word and notion can be expressed in to as many theme you like.
Take it as an assignment that is being awarded to the chap by almighty.
It was written in the book of his destiny and he is enjoying the reward. It is his life and he does not owe any body.
One has right to scarify and sacrifice as well.
It is never a binding on any body to continue his profile as public servant for long.
It’s the share of your time that you sprinkle to upgrade your profile and to uplift peoples profile through the mode of your choice, and desire of your thoughts without causing or indulging in to negligence.
Whether he was good or bad in his services can be a topic of discussion but discussion to pull the reward to excel his future in similar capacity by achieving the peak is a real bias opinion and we have no rights to criticize his incentives that have been awarded by any dick and Harry.

i dont find any change in ptv after his arrival ..he needs atleast 2 years to make things better there .if ppp allows ..
its famous nowadays in khi that govt is going back to their real home i.e DUBAI and London .etc …(dont know whether ARIF HABIB spread this rumor or any one else …but if its so ..then Doc sahab will ve to go as well )
