Don’t Involve General Kayani

By Dr. Hassan Isfahani • May 30th, 2008 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 4 Comments

First political parties relied on the lawyers movement to make the iron clad rule of Pervez Musharraf, and then they relied on deposed judges to ignite the wrath of the nation. They also did the politics on the blood of the innocent students of Lal Masjid and Jamia Hafsa, and they did politics on the operations in the various parts of the country.

Now these parties are relying on the chief of army staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani to oust Musharraf. This is in stark contrast to the democratic norms. Political parties should rely on their political muscles and they shouldn’t look towards GHQ for their help.

They should use the forum of parliament to ask Musharraf to go. The best way for that is to impeach the unwanted man in the Presidency. General Kayani has done a brilliant job of keeping Army out of politics and politicians should encourage it. They shouldn’t drag Army once again into the politics. They should learn from the mistakes of the past. The past which is still haunting them.

  1. once it was a slogan and sticker that ARMY NEED YOU!………………..same has been transformed as ARMY!PEOPLE NEED YOU. you people cant live without army ,you got to undferstand this .

  2. Actually this is not in stark contrast to the political norms in Pakistan. This is precisely what has been done before. I’m not surprised by the politicians using media to spread rumors as well.

  3. Political parties have proved one more time that they do not have any ‘mussles’. These are monopolies. They are themselves run without any democratic norms; they do not have any serious program or agenda to tackle and solve the problems of the common man. Some egomaniacs create such entities for their own purpose and agendas which are normally limited to self interests whatever they might be. They run these entities as their personal properties and do not allow no difference of opinion. To achieve what they consider important they use all sort methods such as false propaganda, disinformation campaigns, harrasment of the people through hand picked ‘political workers’. Everytime, we the people have allowed ourselves to be mislead and be decieved they have done it to the fullest. In my opinion it is time that through some sincere planning and efforts the country has to rid of all such elements, so that the ordinary citizens can also participate in the political process and do not fel so extremely lienated. And if this job has to be done by the military then so be it. After all military has this most important assignment to protect and secure the country from all dangers of instability the source can be external or locally inspired and executed. Pakistan is threatend and it has to be rescued and secured.

  4. Kiayni is also listed in the group of US support pakistanis on the following basis.
He is ex ISI chief who is mostly selected by US and that ’s why he had been in washington for proper programming of US ’s interest.
He was fully particapted in PPP deal where NRO was designed to provide shelter to corrupt politcal icons that are always recalled for covering the army crimes. One can also say old wine in new bottle.
It is in our history that after a volatile army tenure, they pick up a character who prefer to work behind the curtains to fool the world or Pakistanis that are surely nations of fools who always repeat their mistakes of trusting army again and again.
Actually he is defending his boss mush from his accountability and for hisnational crimes that he has done in daylight.
Army and army men are in top in doings corruption , no matter wether in civillian or in army organisation army men are not in back foot in corruption scams so does he a blind ,deaf or dumb chief of army who couldnt stop the open crimes of his men.
