Doing Business in Peshawar

By Mushtaq Ahmad • Nov 29th, 2009 • Category: Politics • No Responses

In Pakistan, almost everyone is aware of the famous Bara markets and the bazaars of Peshawar. People from all over Pakistan came rushing towards the Bara markets and the Peshawar to buy smuggled electronics things, cutlery, and other daily life items.

The food of Peshawar was also relished by Pakistanis. People used to return to Peshawar again and again to savor the Tikkas of Charsi, Sajjis, Bar B Cue, Burgers and the Chappal Kababs. Peshawar was famous for it’s pullaos, kurkhas, Namak handis, karahis, and other very sumptuous food items.

Still the markets of Peshawar are full of the items. Still the food of Peshawar is rich, aromatic, delicious and fresh. But there are no buyers and no food fans. The markets of Peshawar are deserted and the business is frozen. The economy of Peshawar is dying and so are the millions of people of this city. Terrorism has sucked the life out of this once vibrant city.

Government and the civil society must come forward and ensure that the Peshawar remains alive.
