Divided We Stand United We Fall
By Tanzeel • Apr 23rd, 2009 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 24 CommentsInstead of waging war on the ones who have brutally murdered our Pakistani brothers, slaughtered our soldiers, bombed girls schools, blasted barber and CD shops, shot innocent women, our nation is proudly engaged in fighting a war against MQM on various fronts.
Be it parliament, media or internet our patriotic nation has again proved themselves united against the “Racist-Indian-Pro American-Party of infidels MQM”
Recently Maulana Fazl ur Rehman blamed MQM chief for inciting sectarianism in Pakistan. PML N, ANP, Jamat e Islami and PTI have unanimously opposed MQM for rejecting Taliban-Parliament deal.
To obey their racial thirst, followers of said political parties have started a massive campaign against MQM. Their obnoxious statements like incitement of sectarianism and following foreign agenda have exposed their mentality.
After the failure of deal and refusal of Taliban for laying arms, now situation has become quite clear but interestingly a new suggestion is being heard on various forums. Our patriotic Pakistanis instead of appreciating MQM for their bold and honorable stance are demanding MQM to quit coalition for being “ignored and humiliated”.
For me this demand is not only shocking but disturbing as well however I appreciate MQM for sounding so logical and principled on their stance against terrorist Talebans who right after the deal called parliament (the same parliament with whom they made a deal) “un Islamic” and captured “Bunair”. Both the post-deal events have endorsed MQM’s decision of refusing Taleban deal.
International community, civil society, Pakistan’s judiciary, human rights organization and other non governmental organization have actually supported MQM’s stance but unfortunately our mainstream political parties and their followers despite knowing ills of Taleban preferred to side with them, their racism and blind hate against MQM made them to join Anti Pakistan forces and they kept picking and cursing MQM during the whole episode.
All political parties including senate members, intellectuals, writers who initially supported the deal have started giving second thought to the Taleban-Government deal but they are still shying to say even a single supportive word for MQM.
Some days back Nawaz Sharif of PML N who supported the deal with Talibans in parliament found saying something entirely different in his interview to USA Today [April 21, 2009], according to Mr. Sharif
“Militants there are trying to export their particularly harsh version of sharia, in which the hands of thieves are amputated, women are forbidden from going outside, and adulterers are stoned to death”.
This statement clearly states who stands where. Who is double faced and who is fooling Pakistanis. Sharif has taken U turn on Shariah deal for Europe and America but in Pakistan his stance is entirely different, just because he wants to remain popular among the religious groups of Pakistan.
During his interview he came up as a different person. Nawaz said he had had a good relationship with President Clinton — and is a fan of President Obama.
“I have never met Obama, but I have a good impression of him,” he said. “I think he’s a good guy.” [Daily Times Wednesday, April 22, 2009].
The man who is responsible for drone attacks in Pakistan and is being heavily criticised by Nawaz Sharif et al has suddenly become the favorite person of Mr. Sharif.
I have never seen such hypocritical behavior in any country’s political scenario. What worries me is the ultimate rise of hatred against MQM on every front despite MQM’s professional and highly responsible attitude in talk shows, press statements and parliament.
MQM might have done numerous mistakes in past but at this point they have taken a remarkable stand against the non democratic forces of Pakistan. They preferred to embrace majority’s hate for the sake of Pakistan.
Just like PML N, ANP, PPP, JUIF, JI etc — Altaf Hussain could have gone for the majority opinion to capitalize vote bank in NWFP and Punjab for which MQM has been struggling but he never compromised on principles and in return what he got?
“Sheer hatred!”
In such circumstances where racism is literally fuming up against one segment of the society, I might have to re-examine the word “provincial harmony”.

Look Tanzeel, truth is spoken for its own sake and priciples are adhered to because of the sanctity of principles. You are patriotic because patriotism is right of your motherland. You love your country & your people because it is a natural phenomena. You stay faithful & loyal because of quality of your character. You call a wrong, a wrong because you have strength of your conviction. Let me assure you if the motherland, if Pakistan could talk, it would say it loud and clearly how proud it is of her those children like you and it will also show its disgust & disappoitment about those of its children who have failed it. MQM’s stand is principled, it’s responsible, it’s honorable, it’s patriotic, it’s brave, it’s courageous, it’s full love for Pakistan and YOU have every reason to be grateful to God to give you the wisdom & ability to distinguish between right & wrong. I can only hope that rest of the children of Pakistan wake up & wake up fast for our motherland, our Pakistan needs us, and needs us all.

That is what I have been saying all the time on this forum. People like Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, etc are showing different face to people of Pakistan and different face when they are in Europe and America. Many of the top politicians in Pakistan are just eating the country from within. They are draining all the money from the country and building castles and palaces in other countries.

Adi and esp Aftab! thanks for such motivating comments. I accept that MQM might have done serious blunders in past as they are not milk washed either but what makes our nation cursing them every time despite knowing the fact they are right. It seriously annoys me when I find unnecessary bashing of certain political party only.
Using filthy language, branding them Indians, US backed party just because of being pro active but here in this case when other political parties have been exposed not even a single person stood up and criticized these parties they rather tried to find silly justifications to support this deal.
They call us racists, elements of disturbance etc but what they are doing ? Ain’t they singling out one political party and indulging in open bashing and that too with no reason ?
Aftab and Adi I a100% agree with your point but where this situation is leading to. Can such things unite us as a nation ? When we protest they call us racists, dramaybaz, propagandist but when we support Government they call us IQTEDAR KAY BHOOKAY. What should we do ? When we go in Punjab for election campaign they urge not let GHUNDA PARTY conquer PUNJAB/NWFP but at the same time when we quit Punjab campaign they blame us for restricting to Karachi only, we become racists for whom Karachi is everything.

our nations is building its morals on two face characters.One face is always patriotic, devoted, sacrificial, ready to serve like commands but other face is as abusers for our critics,,cheaters of their oath after handling govt matters and quisling who took no time to run away from country and then justify their safe living under the shield of nationalism.So our confused nation has been trapped by these rich and civilized coated goons.Urban class is rebelling but arms in hands of these political goons are forcing these people to restrict their criticism.Now media is joining hands with them so we are seeing good changes of hope in our civic culture.
Tanzeel, I won’t worry about who “hates” us, neither should you. Hate & love are feelings with many reasons and causes. I happen to believe that when you talk about a people & their politics then the concerns of being loved or hated should not play any roles. Politics is a matter of convenience & for the sake of convenience you have just seen the display of shameless behavior by many many many of those whose love or hate is immaterial. If anyone should be worried about such things is them who can’t, hopefully, show their faces in their consituencies.
Like someone already said here that “divided we will be destroyed” - I am hoping that we have learnt this the hard way, most of us can almost feel the ‘long arms of the talibans grabing our ….. you know what I mean’ but lets unite and cut those ‘long arms of talibans’ before they reach our mothers, sisters, daughters & wives. IF WE DON’T THEY WILL !
We can send them where they wish to, lets help them reach their chosen destination at the fastest. WE PAKISTANIS MUST UNITE AND STAND BEHIND OUR GOVERNMENT AND SUPPORT OUR MILITARY SO THAT THEY CAN SEND THESE INVADERS TO HELL!

I agree with you, atleast this is what i like in MQM is tht they donot cover up itself behind weil of religion or anyother excuse, they had showed their stance over this issue, which is quiet simple and reasonable, as now taliban marching towards Buneir, from there they will go to other areas and this all will go on.
and we must condemn this Civil murder of constitution of Pakistan which has done by a party who gave Pakistan its constitution which states, No province can make its own law, and now we gave autonomy to a Division to make its own law :s.
Nazia and we are still not ready to accept this fact We think whatever we are doing is great, we don’t pay heed to what others say and this nature of ours has kept us behind. We have lost the ability to “THINK”.

I am facing all realities and threats on daily basis as our intelligence agencies has created pseudo chaos like situation in northern punjab and NWFP.MQM is just creating political stunt on this critical issue.This issue was highlighted in musharf regime but MMA and army rulers threw dust on this deadly issue.Why musharf sent full battalion there as COAS.Why mqm didnt raise this issue in his period when human were being wasted on the name of protection to these poor swatis.
I told you one thing swat people are now with talibans. You know why because of our poor policies and neglect attitude of our military regime for these 1.8 millions’ land.I had already told you that it was only sharif govt that had provided them good opportunties for their survival.In musharf regime this area was used as supply station of terrorists and arms to afghanistan through such sufi mohammed like characters and gen amhmood ahmed was in charge of this mission .Now it is actually backflow of these warriors due to saturation in Afghanistan.I
I hope you have recently seen the program of talat hussain in which he had given detail of biographies /activities of all the top cream of talibans.they all are illiterate, even qualified only from rote like mudressah,all belong to poor and deprived of swat,no foreigners are found in their team.
So bad policies generate worst result ,now its ANP PPP job to handle this as per different plans to trap these wild cats under some peace deals so at least blood sheds of local would be curtailed.MQM
is only limited to karachi and hyderabad and that is major reason of importance in national scenario.Due to this localized power they can blackmail ruling groups whether military or civilian to get some ministries in both houses.They cant play any role in such areas where people are complete unaware of their existence.
They should concentrate in Karachi worst law and order situation and that is their prime and ultimate responsibility.Yes they can raise point of order or leave their ministries in protest or call alataf hussian from UK to dialogs with these fanatics as it would prove their practicality upto some extent.if mqm politics is captured by lengthy teleophonic speech from UK then our suifi mohammed is master in his running FM ,Both are equally ruling their land under the power of terror as per their culture.

PML N also rule in one province, ANP in one province and that too because of JI absence. Imran and JI are not even in the scene. As far as blackmailing is concerned Nawaz did the same during longmarch. MQM is not even blackmailing Govt. Did they come up with quitting govt slogan ? Tell me where MQM is blackmailing,
How sahreef Govt provided good opportunities to Swat people ? and please this case has nothing to do with bad policies they leaders don’t want to come in mainstream politics. They come under PATA/FATA how could even Govt policies implement there ?

GT road has very strong history of conquerers.Sommonaot temple was conquered 17 times by this route.
sher shah suri had written unique history of over throw his enemies through this road.
People followed this route against our establishment,without any specific party flags and they are conquerer of placing right man on his seat.No doubt its sharif party that has cashed its victory over other groups but here credit goes to rehman and taseer planning that they did such blunders for sharif’s unexpected victory.

there is nothing to be rash when someone place real picture in front of you.This area is beyond the control of mqm and that’s why we always requested them to emphasize its local problems relating to worst law and order conditions,power shortages,rise in street crimes day by day, serious discrepancies are coming out in examination procedures and last is registration of all medressahs and its students that have already been doubled in last 6 7 years.
Before 18 feb elections ppp and mqm were against each other especially after 12 may.Dont forget that even farooq sattar was appointed as to be PM form q league but it is only lust of ministries that cause their kangaroo jumping from q league to ppp side.
Protest should be implemented on demonstrations.What kind of single demonstration they done on this taliban issue.
Weak characters’ management has given rise to popularity of sharif brothers other wise we people are quite aware of their real intention.
You dont know the history of development of manshera and swat in sharif period go back to read some history .Shairf had done same thing to swat that was once done by bhutto for chitral people and thats’ why our innocent people remembered them as their heroes.
MQM is the party of patriotic Pakistanis & all the patriotic Pakistanis must come forward & join it & help it to unite our nation.
If MQM were wrong the deal would not have been reconsidered today. EVERYBODY would not have been given a second thought to it.

they will give it second thought and then would surely give 3rd and 4th and 5th thought as they can only do this thing.After failed military operations and lost of trust of people of swat,there left no option for them instead of this though process.This matter will remain under media coverage untill zardari will complete his US trip started from 28th april.In reality this is only ANP or our military who can react and act on them.When and how still not clear.
