The Pakistani Spectator

Right now I can’t figure out the exact timing when I got this sad news. Was it dawn or I came across to this news last night. But the news was not so good. Now let me reveal the news I am talking about. It was the death of the legendary lollywood actor “Yusuf Khan”. He has been an icon in Punjabi Films due to his intense acting style which was white different than the conventional style of acting normally seen in Pakistani films.

I don’t want to go into the details like he was born on “that” day at some “certain” place. I don’t ant to talk about his brought up and all that. The reason might be that I don’t know about it. I only know that he was a patriot actor and I am saying that he was one of the china wall always stood tall against the cruise of cultural attack from other side of the border. Many of us might be against or feel odd about this point but believe me what I have observed that all that co-production etc brought no good to Pakistan or it s film industry so far.

In my memories one movie of Mr. Khan stood always tall. It’s none other than “BUTT SHIKAN” (idol eraser). It’s been among the favorite films of mine as it was about a topic which has always been my favorite one. I think if I write anything more now I might move far away from the core where I started this. But this also fact that I do not have words to close what I have started to write. The only thing I think I honestly say that today our dying film industry has lost another knight of her.
