Only a fool remains fixed on one view of life.
Things change and people change.
AA was indeed critical of NS as well as BB. But that is not what I enjoyed about his columns.
I liked his Punjabi humor (refined I would say).
Some really funny ones remember when NS took a ride on a Tank and said it was as good as Mercedes and BB's visit to his house" guess who came to dinner".
Fort Wayne,
USA.

AOM represents what is wrong with Pakistan.
Mushraff is a person who usurped power illegally. So what he did some constructive things?
Can I occupy AOMs house and then offer his some sweets; will that make him my Ashiq?

BTW, AA is among the greatest columnists in south asia. Gutsy too.

Aftab Alam has misunderstood saleem khan. What I said had been approved by Mr. saleem in his own words that Ayaz Amir writes in his own style, whether his party is criticized by it or not. He, when millitary took over in 99 approved the act, by clearly stating that the millitary must be backed up after cleaning the filth in the politics. At that time people were so very excited to even think about democray. You cant then say him deprived of geniousness.

Anyway by this comment of Aftab '"It is not Ayaz MIR, his name is AYAZ AMIR " I come to know that he is a bit unfit to post. Nowadays the mistyping is very common and pointing it out until unless its hard to get the word, exposes the caliber of the person posting or chatting.

Aftab
lets talk in your words.its good to hear good names for kiayni .He was incomptent ok then who put him on the highest army rank.Do you know who was his immedaite boss for last 6 years of his service. I hope you know the importance of immedaite boss in one's life.
He was stupid,We love this term as we are using this term for all 3 and 2 star generals who have contibuted a lot in destroying the civic infrastructure of our society. I hope you also know that army rule is here for last 38 years out of 60 years.
If he was poisonous hater of mush then how had he occupied the 5 year job of chairman FPSC. I hope you have an idea of importance of this FPSC as each ruler always want to take control of burecracy through this department and always place the most reliable person to this place.
You are true he is idiot and liar but who gave him training of such acts, surely your answer would be his organisation and his boss who couldnt see his hidden qualities till he is retired or say kicked from the last years of his job.We are using same terms of such characters.
Instead of calling each other by deaf, dumb and stupid just see the prevailng conditons around you. Common people are living without power, food, water and insecure environment and Pakistan is heading towards collapse and now rating among 4th or 5th world country. If we as literate class can not distinguish between black an white then surely no other class can stop the bloody revolution that is oozing out from hungry and undeprived people of literate class.

Army in no hurry to oblige Musharraf against Kiyani:

ISLAMABAD: The Army would respond, at its own time if so required, to the issue of the Official Secrets Act’s violation as demanded by President Pervez Musharraf.

The president in his encounter with his choice TV anchorpersons last Saturday found some of his ex-servicemen colleagues violating the Official Secrets Act and expected from Army Chief Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani to proceed against the violators.

ISPR Director-General Maj-Gen Athar Abbas when asked if the Army was contemplating action against any of the ex-servicemen as has been desired by the president, he said, “If required, the Army would give its response to the issue raised in the media.”

Meanwhile, a defence ministry source told this correspondent that the Army does not see any urgency to blindly follow what has been suggested by the president. “At some appropriate time, the Army may give its response to the president’s view,” the source said.

Musharraf was extremely perturbed over the recent charge-sheet issued against him on the Kargil issue by his former colleague Lt-Gen (retd) Jamshed Gulzar Kiyani, and had urged the Army chief to take note of the violations of the Official Secrets Act.

Kiyani had blamed Musharraf for the Kargil misadventure and revealed that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was kept in the dark on the issue. Kiyani had also attacked Musharraf on many other fronts, including the Lal Masjid operation.

Interestingly, while Musharraf expects from the Army chief to proceed against Gulzar Kiyani for what he sees as the revelation of official secrets on the issue of Kargil, his book “In the Line of Fire” talked at length not only about the Kargil issue but also disclosed many other secrets, including the handing over of a Pakistani national to the US authorities in return of dollars.

Presidential spokesman Maj-Gen (retd) Rashid Qureshi had said in a private television channel that Jamshed Gulzar was never a Kiyani before, hinting as if he has added this to his name to link himself to the incumbent Army chief. However, the fact remains that Jamshed Gulzar Kiyani has been recognised and written as Kiyani even when he was corps commander Rawalpindi.

Please paste full article. Its out of context comments. If you read my comments again.. you will see that I wrote that Ayaz Mir not changed his writing style even after joining one party. It means I like this thing about him. How I can support bad steps taken by one personality...even if he is my favorite or not.

I likes few writers because they are not biased. I have no problem even if Ayaz Mir as you pasted. Its great thing to highlight weaknesses and mistakes instead of saying always Good for your favorites and Saying Bad for your rivals.

Aftab S. Alam Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation.

June 10th, 2008
Following is for Saleem Khan’ benefit and also for those who have been influnced by his and others’ false propaganda about their beloved but “stupid” leader. Note the article was not written now but October 15, 1999 by, non other than Ayaz Amir a great fan of him and a member of National Assembly now on ticket of PML-Nawaz group. This is what he has to say:

What now?

By Ayaz Amir

FIRST a few words, by way of an obituary, regarding the dolt (no other description fits him) (a dolt is : A STUPID PERSON / SOME ONE WHO IS NOT VERY BRIGHT) who took a step too far and who had not the wit to understand that it is only so much incompetent audacity the furies can stand.

There could not be a sadder commentary on the Pakistani ethos than that a person such as Nawaz Sharif, with his limited ability and unbounded greed for money and power, should have risen to the highest position in the land. In few other democratic dispensations would this have happened?

The army’s hand was forced. If it had not done what it did it would have stood condemned before the bar of history. The Sharifs were wanting to do to the army what it had done to the Supreme Court: sow the seeds of dissension in its higher echelons so as to render it ineffective as a check on their ambitions. Had the Sharifs succeeded in their designs they would have had two Rana Maqbools in their service: one as the IGP Sindh and the other, in the form of Lt Gen Khawaja Ziauddin, as head of the army.

(IF ANYONE CARES - THIS ARTICLE CAN BE READ AT DAWN ARCHIEVES)

Saleem Khan, what makes you think that you are so damn important that you must be provided peoples identities, no one gives a damn about your damn identity, so just get on with your diatribes about whoever doesn't agree with you or your silly little notions about politics and poloitical correctness.
