Vying for credit in the deeds of virtue is one thing, and deceiving the partner in noble causes to score political points is quite another. The issue of restitution of judiciary is not something which would just benefit PML-N, rather it’s the voice of heart of majority of the Pakistanis.

After breaking the hearts of Pakistanis multiple times by giving false deadlines and not fulfilling promises of restoring the judges, now Zardari wants to  achieve multiple advantages by presenting his constitutional package.

Not only this package would restore the deposed judges with lesser powers, it would also indemnify the Nov. 3 act of Musharraf, and it would also keep the PCO judges. Moreover, this package would give constitutional cover to the controversial laws like National Reconciliation Ordinance, and it would also accomplish some good things like the abolishment of 58(2)B, and giving powers back to the Prime Minister from the President.

Like 17th amendment, this 18th amendment also has many hidden Easter Eggs. PPP wants to take credit for the restoration of judges through 18th amendment. First, its not about credit, and secondly, if PPP restores judges with no power at all, instead of credit, it would backfire.
