Contempt bill is passed in NA on Monday, though opposition leaders were against this bill and demanded not to forward this bill for further approval, as it is against the basic rules of constitution, contempt bill contains 13 clauses, and one of them is about giving immunity to the top leadership and high office holders for disobeying court orders and also give a free hand to the public for judiciary criticism.

All the opposition parties including PML-N and PTI strongly oppose this bill, it’s against the constitution and religion as well, because no one can above the justice, laws are equal for everyone, regarding this contempt amendment bill Imran Khan chairperson of PTI said that this bill is against the Holy Quran, Sunnah and Justice and constitution, he further added that this is simply a way to provide incumbent govt. to loot the country as much as it can.

One basic reason that lies behind the approval of this contempt bill is reopening of cases against president Zardari, as it is predicted that PM Raja Pervaiz Ashraf must write to Swiss authorities to reopen the cases against president. And just to avoid from these cases president want to approve this bill as soon as possible. Final approval of the bill is expected till 12^th July and same date is expected for writing to Swiss authorities. Opposition and public strongly condemn this contempt amendment bill and this inequality is not at all acceptable. Regarding this bill Advocate Muhammad Siddique Khan filed a petition against it in demanded to declare it void.

This bill seems to create distinction between high officers and rest of public; it’s against the Islamic principles, where lesson of equality is given for everyone including rich and poor then how can we go against these rules. So we don’t want to give opportunities to these looters to loot the rest of wealth in the nation, this bill should be declared void as soon as possible.
