Commentor Registration at TPS (Trial)

By The Pakistani Spectator • Mar 21st, 2009 • Category: Politics • 9 Comments

Hello dear and respected commentors and visitors, first please accept our  heartiest and very much gratuful thanks and regards for making TPS a resounding success. We are not only ranking at top of the list in Pakistani blogs but also our Google ranking, Alexa ranking and other metrics are rising rapidly. We are being viewed more than 500,000 monthly and that is increasing.

Where the credit goes to the authors, technical and managing team behind the curtains, equal credit goes to the people who are making it a gala with their reading and comments. Where most of the commentors are superb and we are having field day with them, there are some elements who are using very abusive and opprobrious language. Some people are posting their mobile numbers, some are just calling names and so and so.

As a trial we are introducing user registration at TPS. It will not block anyone from commenting on TPS, what you have to is to register at TPS for only one time with your username and password, login at the site, and then you may carry on as you were previously. It will surely discourage one-timers or two-timers who come only to pollute the website.

We will wait for the comments and feedback of the visitors and commentors, and will act as the majority says.

Please give your feedback asap.

  1. If you wish to play the ‘boss man’ with power to gag anyone at the pleasure of your ‘idols’ the supporters and propagandists of terrorist Talibans and Al-Qaida then you can hang it. And I am no one or two time visitor here. You will be pleased to go and read the ‘jewels’ and most ‘decent’ language being used and allowed by this ‘fine’ forum , perhaps you consider that ‘refreshing’.

    I am outta here!

  2. We will wait for the comments and feedback of the visitors and commentors, and will act as the majority says.

    Please give your feedback asap.

    regards

    TPS Service.

  3. Main nahin manta

Deep jis ka sirf mehellaat hi main jalay,
Chand logon ki khushyon ko lay ker chalay,
    Wo jo saye main har maslihat kay palay;
    Aisay dastoor ko,
    Subh e bay noor ko,
    Main naheen maanta,
    Main naheen jaanta.
The light which shines only in palaces
Burns up the joy of the people in the shadows
Derives its strength from others’ weakness
    That kind of system,
    like dawn without light
    I refuse to acknowledge,
    I refuse to accept

Main bhee kha’if naheen takhta e daar say,
Main bhee Mansoor hoon, keh do aghyaar say,
Kyun daraatay ho zindaan ki divar say,
    Zulm ki baat ko,
    Jehel ki raat ko,
    Main naheen maanta,
    Main naheen jaanta.
I am not afraid of execution,
Tell the world that I am the martyr
How can you frighten me with prison walls?
    This overhanging doom,
    this night of ignorance,
    I refuse to acknowledge,
    I refuse to accept

Phool shaakhon pay khilnay lagay tum kaho,
Jaam rindon ko milnay lagay tum kaho,
Chak seenon kay silnay lagay tum kaho,
    Iss khulay jhoot ko,
    Zehan ki loot ko,
    Main naheen maanta,
    Main naheen jaanta.

“Flowers are budding on branches”, that’s what you say,
“Every cup overflows”, that’s what you say,
“Wounds are healing themselves”, that’s what you say,
    These bare-faces lies,
    this insult to the intelligence,
    I refuse to acknowledge,
    I refuse to accept

Tum nay loota hai sadyon hamara sakoon,
Ab na hum per chalay ga tumhara fasoon,
Chara gar main tumhain kiss tara say kahoon?
    Tum naheen charaagar,
    Koi maanay magar,
    Main naheen maanta,
    Main naheen jaanta.

For centuries you have all stolen our peace of mind
but your power over us is coming to an end
why do you pretend you can cure pain?
Even if some claim that you’ve healed them,
    I refuse to acknowledge,
    I refuse to accept.

  4. Even though , I want this registration to start at TPS, but it will again only discourage the visitors, as i only started commenting at the TPS regularly when i had the freedom of posting my comments without registration, otherwise i visit other blogs also , but have never commented on any of those

an A**hole will remain the same, with or without registration,

if you want to keep the dirty remarks away , you will have to update the filter that detects the dirty remarks

registration is good but it will only decrease the interest in the website

  5. Dear The Pakistani Spectator

i have a LOT OF RESPECT for you guys simply because i am allowed to say whatever i wish.

    Few things i wanna say:

1>a significant section of the authors here made TPS an almost an ANTI-INDIA PROPAGANDA WEBSITE……..

2>Only NEGATIVE NEWS about India finds space in TPS.

3>Some authors search the net for NEGATIVE NEWS ABOUT INDIA and publish it here……….STRAIGHT COPY AND PASTE………..

4>After Mumbai attacks…….some of the MOST RIDICULOUS CONSPIRACY theories were churned here………….NO sympathy towards Indians whatsoever

5>Crazy conspiracy theories, fictional Indian coup stories, stories regarding “nepal banning indian movies”, indian poverty and the PET THEME OF INDIAN MINORITIES ….and most importantly never ending RAW stories …..all finds a glorious mention here……….

    >>>>Though the condition of Pakistani minorities are very CONVENIENTLY FORGOTTEN…….

    >>>>>>>>>>>We know that these INDIA RELATED STORIES generate HUGE TRAFFIC and makes PERFECT BUSINESS SENSE ……..but a LINE NEEDS TO BE DRAWN.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

Kindly try to bring some of these Pakistani bloggers/columnists here in TPS……….

1>Tazeen Javed ……………..a former TPS blogger.

2>Samad Khurram …………..a former TPS blogger

3>Awais Aftab ………..a former TPS blogger

    5>Karachi Khatmal

    6>Nadeem F. Paracha……..

    7> Guys from Five rupees.

    8> Mossaraff Zaidi

    @@@@@@@@@

    On the question of REGISTRATION:

i would like to quote Aftab S. Alam( Comment 1)

“”"”"”"”"”If you wish to play the ‘boss man’ with power to gag anyone at the pleasure of your ‘idols’ the supporters and propagandists of terrorist Talibans and Al-Qaida then you can hang it.”"”"”"”

    In other words……….a big NO.

  6. Mein bhi nahin manta.

  7. well, i think people will lose their interests this way. i think the misuse of lang was done by the senier and mature members and we may request them to respect the forum and keep it beautiful as it has been.

the one time visitors you talked about do not comment on these political issues. they just search for the lusty info through the internet and unluckily are invited here by the ” beautiful blogs” of ammina gillani.

    so no need for registration.

    thank you.

  8. u should have registration and see where it leads.

  9. On the question of Amna Gilani’s posts……….they are GOOD FOR BUSINESS………

Brings a LOT OF INTERNET TRAFFIC…………

more traffic = more clicks on advertisements = more unique visitors = MORE REVENUE .

TPS also has to look at the monetary aspects of a website.
