Coalition At Strained Juncture Again
By Ali Yar Khan • Aug 21st, 2008 • Category: Politics • One ResponseIndemnification of Pervez Musharraf and the restoration of Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary are the two bones of contention between PML-N and PPP once again, and now as the throne of Musharraf has evicted from in between, there is no excuse to delay this matter further.
Between 5th August and 7th August, it was agreed between Mian Nawaz Sharif of PML-N and Asif Ali Zardari of PPP in writing that the judges would be restored including Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhary after the 72 hours of impeachment or resignation of Pervez Musharraf. Now as Musharraf remains ousted, Asif Ali Zardari has once again put the blockade in the restoration of judges.
It is rumored that Zardari has made a deal with the international guarantors that Musharraf wouldn’t be stopped and he wouldnt be tried in any case, and in exchange Zardari would get political and monetary support from abroad, which he badly needs for his survival in the power, but he fears that if the judges are restored then they would become activated and would block the way of Musharraf to go out freely without any trial. Nawaz Sharif also want to try Musharraf and he certainly does like to see judges restored. It would render dual benefit to him. It would fulfill his long standing promise with nation of restoration of the judges, and it would also subjugate the former dictator in front of the judiciary of which he made a joke during his tenure.
Ironically Musharraf is still wielding a leverage and exploiting expedient Zardari. Zardari is pleading with Musharraf through back door channels to quit Pakistan, so that he could restore judges and Musharraf is taking his time to the agony of PPP chairperson who is entangled between the sea and the high mountain.

Thinga are still uncertain. I hope they will cross this hurdle also wisely and intelligently but problem is Who is gona be next President. We can afford Zardari as PPP chairman but Can’t afford him as a President. He is the most controversial personality of Pakistan. No doubt, other parties have no serious reservations but even then People of Pakistan are not positive about his role and his previous track record.
We must give right to Baluchistan and bring them back in main stream. President or PM seat is not important than keeping whole Pakistan like one icon. Only slogans and sorrows can not make Balochis happy. Our government should provide all basis necessities of life to their people.
Regards.
