Cleanliness! We all need a clean mind too!

If we evaluate our daily life, we are really a Nation of mess and trash makers. We can not keep the environment clean in all respects. If we are given a nice desk at school to study, we will write on it and make it dirty, we love to write our emotions in public toilet walls, we love to throw trash on the road, out side our house and never try n think on the lines that cleanliness not only brings a suitable environment for living but it also enhances the out look of our life.

Our religion stresses a lot on our personal hygiene and nice and clean surroundings. We take every public facility as a for granted thing and love to abuse it by either destroying it or not leaving it not workable. We love to break street lights, window glasses, make a mess of public transport including buses and trains, we dont use designated areas to throw trash near houses, we try our best to make public parks a rotten place, after Holy sacrifice of animals at Eid, we throw their remains including intestines on the road. We mis-use official cars, we dont maintain our offices, we cant manage our data and files, as labour and workers we tend to destroy the machines we work on, we scratch neighbours new car if its parked out side, we can not tolerate any body having a better life style then us, we dont stop our kids to make a mess of others home when when we visit them, we keep on throwing at trash at motorways which are being made to facilitate us, we tend to chalk walls of schools and public organizations when ever we get a chance, we paste posters of our political party at other’s house gates, walls, windows etc.

Its our national problem that are lazy and love to make a mess of every thing. We always go for short cuts and cant be disciplined at any cost. We go abroad we follow ques, we dont throw trash on roads and highways, we keep our house street clean, we dont chalk walls, we keep our official houses and cars well maintained and clean, we wear nice clothes in the offices cause we fear one thing, of getting caught and being penalized. Same people when return to Pakistan become part of the culture and start doing stupid things again.

Where are we heading as a Nation, people talk alot about financial and morale corruption but we always undermine the fact that how should we behave as a good human being who should be well disciplined, clean, presentable and above all a good team player. Its amazing how we keep inside of our houses absolutely clean and scratch less and we throw out trash in front of the neighbor’s house or just next to a public park. This not just lack or being organized, its a psychological problem as well in which a person s having a strong urge to make mess of every thing which he can not afford or has not spent any thing on it, or some body else is enjoying it or he cant dream of having it.

What can be done to put an end to this National problem? Well the first step would be that we forget what others are doing and start getting organized ourselves and then teach our children from the very early age to how to keep their surroundings clean, how to maintain a tidy look, how to behave well in public and at houses of our friends and family members and try our level best to build in the urge to be organized all times in our selves and in our kids so that they could be very good citizens of Pakistan and contribute positively for our country’s growth and prosperity.

We as parents and elders have a strong responsibility to guide our kids in a way that they could become part of the system which encourages following laws and principles of the religion and of the state at the same time so that we are being able to see a visible change in our life styles and we take pride in being a Nation which cares a lot for a good out look of Pakistani Nation before rest of the world.

Click For More Articles By Mian Usman Writing poetry and articles is one my favorite passtimes. I write truth openly in a straight forward manner and dont believe in an indirect hinting towards the truth. Am an ordinary man with an extra ordinary wish to see peace, harmony, justice and equality for common man before I die. For that I have decided to write my inner thoughts on the day to day sufferings around us. Silence can not solve any problem it rather increases it. My struggle will end with me. Am grateful TPS to provide me an opportunity to join a group of very talented writers from whome am learning a lot. Am not a man of letters so you would find my expression not as good as my seasoned and experienced partners who regularly write, my focus is primarily on the message in my articles and TPS is helping me to convey it to a lot of people.

  1. In Islam cleanliness is equal to half of faith,So if you follow the basic rules of neatness around you and try to keep pure our souls from the dirt of filthy language and negative thoughts then we cover our half of course being a Muslim.
But practically I observed that we Muslims are habitually dirty nation or one say unaware of standard of cleanliness and hygeine,In this field west and other religion has taken an edge on Muslim community.

  2. and mental cleanse too… it seems all problems start and end there..

  3. Indeed an excellent piece encouraging one self-evaluation.

Actually it’s all seed of corruption. Rules are there in form of state-laws, ethics and religious teachings. What we need is a devoted mind to act upon these rules. We have fear of traffic cop and don’t accelerate the vehicle but we lack a mind fearing God and caring for future generation.

Mostly, such agony motivates martial action which later acquire names of rebellion or modification etc.
