Business of Taliban : Peshawar City Hostage : Peshawar Girls Direct Target

The only road which leads to Peshawar from outside which is safe and clear is Islamabad-Peshawar road and all of the other roads to Peshawar are controlled by the Taliban just few kilometers away from the city.
These militants are targeting the two basic pillars of any civilized society. Health and Education. Talibans are banning the male doctors of the areas under their control to not to see the female patients and they are destroying the girls schools and colleges and warning parents to not to send girls for education. Especially Talibans seem to be allergic of the girls education, and they don’t really like it behind the burqa.
Alarm bells are rising as Talibans have started the same thing in the Peshawar city.
They have attacks three private schools in the Peshawar city. Earlier they put some demands in front of the school adminstration, but administration decided to not to bow down in front of those demands as demands only increase. As a punishment, Taliban attacked the schools. Negligency of the state officials of the area is evident as they provided no serious security to the schools even when the school administration notified them about the imminent danger.
Talibans are hell bent on pushing the people back to the dark ages. They either kill the people who don’t accept their demands or they incarcerate them in their private jails and only release them after getting hefty fine.
This is a lucrative business run by the Taliban.

Unfortunately…the same is true. I also saw this AFP News story,’Taliban threaten to kill Pakistani school girls:Officials (http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Taliban_threaten_to_kill_Pakistani_schoolgirls/articleshow/3890827.cms?TOI_latestnews)’. What I would like you here is to educate us on how to tackle this menace which is threatening to engulf the Pakistani society in the near future…if necessary actions are not taken at the earliest.
One root cause may be Pakistan’s involvement in the war against terror, but at the same time my feeling is that in the society itself there is silent majority which considers these actions on the part of taliban militants acceptable. I have no doubt that these people mostly belong to the affluent and the semi literate middle class. For a long time the poor people of Pakistan were considered to be more vulnerable to radicalisation but my belief is that the majority of poor people have no incentive and time to indulge in such activities as to be engaged day in and day out in making efforts to sustain themselves and prevent family members from penury and destitution.
Well Amna, could you be so kind to point out some of the steps needed on the part of civil society and the State in curbing the shameful activities of Taliban militants?
Do you believe that the so called democratic government will be able to address the problem in the near future?
Also if possible trace the links of drug warlords and mafia elements with Pakistani Taliban militants…my guess is that most of them indulge in cross border opium trade which gives them enough money and resources to wage war on Pakistani people.

You society is against war on Terror as it is being waged by Bush. when Musharaff took action aginst these terrorists in lalMasjid, he was called a follower of Bush. Even Arif says the reason for this barbarians to throw acid on face of girls,is what SAUDI FUNDED CLERICS TEACH YOU as REAL ISLAM. People say Islam is peace and Jihad is one who wages against ones own soul. But SAUDI CLERICS teach otherwise and follow the same thing IN SAUDI ARABIA as being followed in FATA/WAZIRSTAN.
thinking Pakistanies must search their soul why these barbarians didnot even allow the corpse of PIR samiullah to lie under earth.
Pakistani society is NOT against war on Terror. Pakistani society is against killing people indiscrimnately as is being done in so called war on terror by Bush. The point is 911 was not planed or executed by the people who are being killed daily in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq. As far as what is happening in northern areas of Pakistan it is not jihad or even Islam it is matter of controlling the area and trying to impose their own version of relegion. War on Terror has only made this world unsafe and provided more grounds for these terrorists.
Its a great site, it highlights those issues which were never discussed before,I especially appreciate the efforts of Amna Gilani for her nice articles.

First of all I want to explain to u what our Holy Prophet (May peace be upon him) have told us He said that it has been made compulsory on every muslim woman and man to aquire knowledge ( mind you the word education was not used) again we were told to aquire knowledge even if u have to go to china ( not education).Now ask yourselves what is knowledge and how to get it .The basic fountain of knowledge is our Holy Quran and Sunnah without its knowledge a muslim cannot begin its quest of life.Now tell me which school that taliban blew up was offering such a service, and even what proof is available that even taliban are doing this isnt it possible that enemys of taliban are not doing this to disgrace them cause literal meaning of the word taliban is students.Kidnap for ransom is a crime that taliban are famous to give death penelties to the culprits who do so.
