Blind Authority Reeks
By Salman Mugsi • Jun 19th, 2008 • Category: Politics, Worth A Second Look • 21 CommentsIn the course of our lives, we all do silly things. It’s simply avoidable, but the sagacious ones understands their bloopers and they strive their hard to not to repeat them, and when the time comes and if they are given the chance, they accept their follies and try to make do for them in a justified manner.
Pakistan has have it’s fair share of successive blind authorities, who always start from “Meray Aziz Hum Watno”, and either end up in a plane crash or in any other ignominious departure. From the onset, these blind authorities follow the same procedure, they prop up such sycophants who keep step with the slowest march of thought and scowl on those who may hinder the destination-less journey of the strengthening of the tinpot suffocating tyranny.
Such was the pattern we can also witness during the inefficient and black regime of Pervez Musharraf. From the creation of PML-Q to the appointment of Shaukat Aziz it’s a livid story of barbarism, plundering, and status quo. The morale of the nation was snatched and destroyed. The sovereignty of the country was compromised. An agricultural country was made to beg for wheat from all over the world. Shortages of power, water, gas, food, jobs and everything else was gifted to the hapless people of this country. To add insult to the injuries, it was all termed as “Economic Miracle”, and the promise was given that it would trickle down eventually.
Like all dictators, now Musharraf is feigning innocence. Like an old grandpa, he wants to become Big Ben of Pakistan. In his infinite hindsight, he now says that “well, perhaps the current economic crisis could be the resultant of the blunders of the past government.” Musharraf could be impeached solely on this point. Who was exactly the real ruler in that era? Ask from a stone, and you will get an answer. Musharraf now tries to get himself off the hook by saying that he has invited Shaukat Aziz thrice to come back to Pakistan and defend his economic blunders, but he is not coming back. It was the same Musharraf, who always praised Shaukat Aziz’s economic mettle day in and day out, and in chorus the whole of PML-Q joined in at every occasion.
And while we are at it, let’s check what PML-Q has to say about this issue. Just now during the budget debate in the National Assembly, two legislators of the PML-Quisling, former minister of state Raza Hayat Hiraj and Sheikh Waqas Akram, made the confession regarding the blunders of the previous regime of the Q-League, saying they felt embarrassment over the economic meltdown, power crisis, sacking of the judges and arrest of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan.
Sheikh Waqas said that, “We feel ashamed that we worked with those who committed the blunders and even faced the embarrassment of the NRO.”
Then comes the bumper statement of Raza Hayat Hiraj in which he said that due to the mistakes made in the tenure of the previous government, people did not vote for them and now they were sitting on the opposition benches. He said it was also a fact that their prime minister (Shaukat Aziz) was powerless.
Now if Shaukat Aziz was powerless, then who was powerful? And it doesn’t take much thinking to reach to the conclusion that he who had the absolute power must be held accountable for the blunders of the previous regime.

They should make Musharraf an example so that future generals think thousands times before staging the coup.
The reason we don’t have a mature political system right now in Pakistan is due to the successive Martial Laws. Only if this time somehow they manage to block the way of future Martial Laws, only then Pakistan will have a bright future.
Musharraf is a decaying meat now. Don’t even bother to talk about him now.
“1 - Dr. Ayesha Says: June 19th, 2008 They should make Musharraf an example so that future generals think thousands times before staging the coup.”
WHY MUSHARRAF ALONE, MAY I ASK ? Do I smell some stale fish here?
THERE ARE SCORES OF THEM AROUND WHO HAVE BEEN PART OF SUCH VENTURE.
During the days of the elections I heard a gentleman (the name I can’t recall, all round and bald!) on TV say that ’salvation of Pakistan lies in the bullet’. With every passing day I am convinced he is right.
If Mr. Musharraf seems to be such a thorn for many then do also dispose off with all those politicians who make way through the gates of the GHQ and promise the army that they can fix things (for me the list would include stalwarts from both the PPP and PML-N). No point of only blaming the army personnel, politicians are spineless, generally speaking. As months pass, the 100 day agenda seems to have already passed down the drain. The political scenario is all about ‘blood’.
Aamen! I am all with you!
Economic meltdown is everywhere. Price have gone rocketing high in most countries of the world. In the UK alone inflation has been so high that the bank of england head had to write a letter to the governor explaining why the inflation had gone up!
So you can’t blame the previous government or musharraf for that matter if prices have gone up! Its just a worldwide phenomena!
What other leaders do we have? Nothings wrong with dictatorship! Its the people who think and do wrong. Just imagine what we all knew and heard about Zardari and now he is the decision maker with his puppet prime minister? Who elected him?
Next our sharif brothers…there is no dispute of what happened during his rule…sc was stormed…loans were written off and I am sure you would have heard about numerous financial gains to his businesses. Ittefaq foundry to be precise…and let’s face it we’ve all heard these stories.
Then we have chaudhary brothers.I don’t even understand what one of him says…so I guess they are nt worth talking about.
Shaukat Aziz - it is a natural tendency to throw dirt on the outgoing person..specially if what you are going to achieve seems difficult. This way you can start a blame game which is exactly what is happening.
Let’s wait and see what the new government is doing and what they are able to achieve. I sincerely hope that they do what is best for the people of Pakistan and not for anyone’s personal motives. We are already four months past elections and nothing fruitful has yet happened! Let’s wait further and see.
The way I understand. The idea is not to let the new government work; create as many hardships that can be, continue with adverse propaganda, and force them to throw towels or yield to Nawaz’s unreasonable demands and reach the power by hook or by crook. And then the movement for democratic dictatorship starts and hopefully fails otherwise we end up with a khilafat under the “Ameer-ul-momeen” in this process the people of Pakistan continue to or forced to give blood and tears, who cares.
Untill, the show starts keep on “talking the talks”, just follow the fashion trend, namely Musharraf bashing or go a step further and talk about hanging him or as the “learned” doctor Ayesha suggests “make an example” out of Musharraf for others to learn. What a convenient “example” and what a convenient “lesson” book. As she confirms the prevailing thinking of Musharraf being an outsider - a “la waris” so to speak. He does not have a “soldiers blood” like that infamous ex-general Jamshed Gulzar claims who recently has discovered being a Kiyani (perhaps a forgotten and disowned son of General Kiyani’s father when he was a bachelor). He has conveniently forgotten that we paid by sacrificing our resources to make him a soldier.
Aftab cannot control his Bughz-e-Nawaz. He has made it a habit of chasing anyone at TPS who is against Mushi, and now he in his infinite wisdom he is trying to do with Dr. Ayesha. Shame on him.
Imran, let me assure you I am not trying to do nothing with no body. I have just tried to express the facts as I see them; difiicult for your “decayed brain” to appreciate. You did not learn much from that book you plagiarized from (”Freedom of Speech” / Free speech / Scott Barbour) did you?
May I remind you the advice I gave you at that time. Since, your brain is so “decayed” it is beyond learning. I will just write it one more time for your benefit, “Ponder a little before shooting off again from where you usually do.”
Aftab, your dirty mind can only utter such dirty words. Keep your decaying advices for your tiny decaying mind and rotten soul. You are a disgrace. People have even stopped replying to your decaying comments.
Imran, Ayesha and others, if we all just ignore this “Decaying Mind” (DM) then that will suit him well. He thrives in the dirt and mud-slinging. So ignore the DM.
But somebody has to stop this DM.
I believe in free speech, but I have seen with pain that Aftab tends to start insulting the authors and commentors, and then retliations start from the other side and that diverts attention from the issue at hand. I would request him and others to maintain the decorum. It’s our site, and we have to work together to maintain it. You don’t get such platforms everyday. We should adopt some self-censorship.
With respects to all.

Interesting note that a thief like yourself is worrying about morality. Ha! Ha! Ha!

Dear Rubab, be fair. Read my comment # 8 above and say which author or commentators are insulted? And read # 9 and tell who has started what here.
Rubab
we have writers with a big heart here on TPS, therefore comments are not moderated. Caravans can never be stopped of slowed down. Enjoy commenting and keep visiting TPS

you are absolutly correct but americans are playing safe games for their future plans that is why corrupt characters of sharif and zardaris are sent back.Your book has an excellent data for any democratic govt to make the army accountable for their lavish expenditures but for this we need strong and pure leadrship and that is still absent from our national scene.
As aftab said that why only mush not others so I just say him that he deserve punishment as he was one of powerful rulers of Pakistan who had all kind of resources without any oppositon there. In his first year he tried for doing good jobs using the principle of accountability but after one year he started misusing his absolute powers and started supporting the corrupt characters of society for prolonging his tenure.I can assure you with my personal experience that he has allowed complete loot programmes to lot of his subordinate generals , advisors and secertaries for camoufualging his mangemental errors ensuing the economic disaster in all major areas of Pakistan. His list of crimes are very open and easy to handle but it could only be done as US would take off life support system for him.As soon as it will be off in a day he can be made accountable for his open crimes against his nation.
Nazia ,this dr aisha is not ,absconder dr aisha, the run away model.
