Battle For Pakistan
By Javed Akram • May 11th, 2009 • Category: Politics • One ResponseThe Battle for Pakistan has begun ……..or thats what our PM is saying.but is it really that simple to categorize it as Black and white. No doubt we are at a critical juncture in your young nations history but we should also examine the factors which have lead us down this disastrous path. While I will focus on those factors and basics which are responsible for the state we are in right now I will like to focus more on the current situation in Swat right now.
Swat ,a beautiful scenic valley has been in the grip of terrorism for quite some time. However most baffling was the inability of our state more specifically our army to weed out the miscreants.Infact Mushrraf did nothing to reduce let alone eliminate the insurgency.Maulana Fazlullah was given a free hand to operate his infamous MULLAH RADIO which enabled him to take the people of swat hostage.
Currently the army operation has started and is being touted as successful. While I certainly pray that it is successful but I don’t know if it is .Infact I really hope that we are not going into a 1971 like situation. With very little information coming out of the war zone everybody is confused and a lot of rumors a circulating around.More than a million people have been displaced and become refugees in their own country. The question is why is it taking such a long time to achieve normalcy in swat. Is it in the vested interest of certain people or powers to keep a state of panic and fear in our country. The question also arises whether our security establishment has failed to curb this menace especially in an area so close to the capital.
I hope that the situation returns to normalcy and displaced people can return to their own homes.I hope and pray our country can survive and emerge stronger after this .Amen!

Javed,
Yes it is that simple which you can put it in black and white. If Taliban wins this war they will grow in Power and motivation and will progress ahead and would start taking control of areas in Pakistan and Government writ will start ending.
Also if they gain power the way you leave now will change and which may or may not affect you as per your living pattern.
But for majority of guys living in cities and big towns it will change for worst.
Also you will not be able to post blogs and view things on internet. Choice is yours, you can say whatever you want to.
