Let’s talk about the aged and obsolete Karachi Nuclear Power Plant —— KANUPP. It’s important because it threatens lives and well being of a huge number of our innocent and unknowing citizens. Yes, I am talking about —– KANUPP ——  located by the seaside near Karachi. It’s estimated that some 9 million people (half the [...]

By Uza Syed • Feb 29th, 2012 • Category: Politics

Let’s see—no politicians would handle energy matters——says Imran Khan. Who is this Jehangir Khan then? How come Jehangir Khan Tareen does all the presentation and planning on the subject—-doesn’t anyone notice or have any intensions to notice the obvious contradiction here–does this Tareen have some special training and expertise in power sector? Has he ceased [...]

Let’ see—-if Imran Khan is neither stupid nor naïve—-then what is he—- [...]

Is Imran Khan naive or stupid or both?

By Uza Syed • Feb 5th, 2012 • Category: Politics

Imran Khan is a nice man and sincere to the cause to support and struggle for the rights of the most oppressed and exploited of Pakistan. However, being nice and sincere doesn’t automatically make you intelligent and smart. One has got to be smart to see and grab an opportunity when it presents itself. Imran [...]

Does the Police have a responsibility too?

By Uza Syed • Jan 27th, 2012 • Category: Lead Story, Politics, Worth A Second Look

Using a fake license plate on a vehicle is a crime in all civilized countries including Pakistan. An important function of the traffic police is to ensure that they spot this crime and take action against the offenders. It is embarrassing for me to inform you, that you and your many hundred policemen failed to notice that the prime Minister of Pakistan on 19th January 2012 was driving a vehicle with a fake number plate.

Saleem Shahzad’s murder and its inquiry!

By Uza Syed • Jan 26th, 2012 • Category: Politics

Journalist Syed Saleem Shahzad was abducted, kept in illegal custody, brutalized and eventual tortured to death. Some of us protested in outrage and screamed murder and suspected some agency’s hands in this killing, too. Our strong united demands forced formation of an inquiry commission. The commission has published its report without assigning guilt [...]
