Appalling silence over VC abduction of Kohat University of Science & Technology
By Anwar Jalal • Feb 22nd, 2010 • Category: Politics • 2 CommentsThe vice chancellor of Kohat University of Science & Technology Prof. Dr. Lutfullah Kakakhel, has been abducted by unknown person on November 6 2009. Till date the government has found no clue of him. Though in the initial few days it was pledge that the honorable Vice Chancellor will be soon recovered however since then it seems that the government has sent the issue to the cold storage.
Apart from government the media . which often make lot of hue and cry for many day, even in trivial cases but reprehensibly it too has turned deaf ear to such a big event.. Abduction of Vice Chancellor of a government university who happens to be a highly prestigious official, can never be a diminutive event and warrant to be kept alive .The failure of government for recovering the respectable vice Chancellor after so many months is too deplorable whereas complete silence of media , academia and civil society over the matter is also regrettable.

The spokesmen of human rights need to raise voice for the cause of the Vice Chancellor
This is absolute shame for the provincial government, federal government, Chief Justice, Media and Governor NWFP. Dr. Luftullah, a well known scientist who served for the betterment of the province and country is suffering in the hand of few thugs. A respectable man with clean history is now on the mercy of coward people.
Shame on you Governor NWFP, CJP, CM NWFP, IGP NWFP……
