Apex Court : New Center of Gravity for People

The upright, steadfast and honest chief justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has emerged as the celebrated figure and the only sign for the hope for majority of the Pakistanis who are yearning for rule of law, peace, and supremacy of constituton. They have found a leader in the form of Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, and now that CJP is fully committed to root out the corruption from the country and he has started from the top.
PPP leaders have started an aggressive and nasty campaign against the judiciary and they are trying to play the Sindh card and they are trying to say that the judiciary is persecuting them. They forget their baggage and they forget that the Swiss Courts are not controlled or ruled by the Iftikhar Chaudhry.
Chief Justice has added another notch to his belt by the historic verdict for NRO and for monitoring the NRO cases, because he knows that almost everyone important comes under NRO in present regime and it’s pretty absurd to even imagine that these people will take action against them at their own.
People of Pakistan are rallying behind their justice.

Actually we have forced SC into this rule which should be played by the gov. I am afraid it would collapse under this weight and that would be unfortunate.
Iftikhar Chaudhry should be the president and Imran Khan the premier with Ramday as CJP, and things will be ideal for a new Pakistan. Current arrangement of polity is hopeless.
Faryal, like most of the females, you are naqis ul aqal. Nobody has asked CJP to become Khudai fojdar. If he is so fond of politics, he should form a party. And yes already he enjoys undivided support of eunuchs.

Are you kidding? A PCO judge who got his son unfair advantage is none of those that you described him as.
Salman Mugsi: Iftikhat Ch’s behaviour in the NRO case ie only focusing on Zardari out of 8000 cases and his NRO judgment is highly questionable. You are obviously not in the know. Probably listen to some of the debate that is going on.

In Pakistan the corruption—- it emanates from the courts and ketcharies; where ——it seems to be the call of the day; “why to hire a solicitors for your case. Better —-pay direct to the Judge and get the desired judgment”.
I hope he also passes the verdict and defuncts all the left over PCO judges; the one who also abetted the dictator Musharraf’s coup d’état and validated his take over. Not once but twice…..I mean….he himself; CJP I M Choudhary

Zardari is not targetted by anyone,he himself has brought shame and disgrace to the highest office in our country.PPP should assign some other senior person to the post of President. Otherwise Whole ppp is supporting corrupt people and stop fooling people of my Sindh,Zardari anyway lives in Dubai with his corruption Swiss money, his hijacking of party has nothing to do with any love for us.
Daanish, you think your ganja Nawaz Sharif & Co are pious? Why are they not been investigated by Iftikhat Ch? Because they are Punjabis that’s why.

To be honest, CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry hasnt done anything for the personal gains? afterall what good is it going to bring for him? besides all those ‘Proud Leftists’ of PPP if they think of Nawaz sahrif (BTW am no fan of that fat c*nt) so corrupt why dont they file suits in the highest court of authority with due proves required?
As a matter of fact, all that CJP has done is that he declared, alongwith the 17 eminent judges of SCoP, a discriminatory law as unlawful and against the spirit of justice and fairplay….
I ask a mere simplest questions that I can came across with…… that if they are so worried abt the personalities getting affected by the NRO (I call it NO RULE ORDINANCE) why dont they declare all of those convictees of minor crimes (and obviously major crimes as well) as innocent!
Why dont they just abolish the law, courts and make Pakistan a ONE RULE LAND……….

Why not one single judge in this bench had a differing view? Why the judgement is considered of that of Iftiqhar Choudhry? is it not the judgement of Supreme court bench?

From comment no 1 , i could see the courage which is required amongst ladies of Pakistan to tell the truth.
Adnan must say openly he doesnot believe in ladies education which is what wahab wanted.He did not believe in Indian Islam.
Stop doing provincial politics,it’s about people who have no loyalty whether it is Sindhi or punjabi ,these corrupt politicians or power holder in our country are even not shameful and trying to make people fight from the comfort of London or Dubai .
I am not surprised to read such diverse and divided opinion among our Pakistanis. That is great because it at least makes me feel that we are getting aware of some of the really important things and give significant time to them either by reading newspaper or commenting on this site.

Now, as far as the verdict is concern, honestly I feel reservations on it. I am not in support of PPP or CJP being a student of journalism I will try to be objective.
The verdict itself states the vendetta, either personal or national you name it. The petition which was submitted by Hafiz Peerzada and Dr. Mubashir Hassan legal associate of Z.A Bhutto and Information secretary respectively wanted to get the verdict against the law not against a person.
8034 cases and still half of us might not aware of the names of Bureaucrats involved in this corruption. I mean half of the Nation knew the decision before it actually happened. What is this? Why is this? Because the CJP has already made his image of making popular decision or ruling against governments. And as far as i know Judges cannot make the perception.
Now i bash NRO being a inglorious and a bad law. All i am asking from all the stakeholders including public that the jist of ruling would have been the same but the procedure could have been better.
There is something wrong in this judgment which is why Ali Ahmed Kurd has reservations. Now we cannot say he is wrong just because he is speaking different what pro CJP people think. This is what which being felt by across the board.
The decision was Good applause for CJP but institutions are going towards the clash and this time CJP has to take the responsibility of Judicial Adventurism.
How Many Holes Are in Your Bucket—CJP?
We use the leaky bucket metaphor for CJP I M Choudhary that hie verdicts do not successfully convert the masses to believe in him that man being the head of socalled the independent judiciary is really doing some thing good for this nation. After every move of CJP to bring about the law to the lime light; it proves to be superflavous.
A hype is build and it is like a traffic which fills the bucket but leaks out of holes that man has got too many holes in his own personal previous conduct.
It looks like that his previous history being a PCO judge , the abettore and two time validators of Musharaff’s coup de’tat; it haunts him that he comes out with such popular actions like this.
He need to plug as many of these holes as possible—only when he issues an verdict to hang all including himself.

Yes, as soon as Punjabis do so too. Don’t use it to enforce Punjabi persecution on other provinces in the guise of Justice. The last time SC decided against Nawaz League, ganja had the Supreme Court attacked - his punishment if still pending. So much for respect for law by Punjabis. They only want one sided decision by Punjabi Iftikhar Ch to be respected by provinces. Thanks but no thanks. This is no justice. This is Punjabi justice.
Punjabi justice = No rule/law/constitution applies to Punjabis — only to everyone else.

if ANP from NWFP and Mqm from Sindh and JUI from punjab would have come to help zardari for their unconditional support as they showed at the time of election of president then case would have been solved in assembly without the aide of Punjabi justice.Same they responeded each other when they all signed for NRO relief.
Why the fingers are not pointing towards the suspicious characters of Karachi mqm who was amongst the top in getting beneficiary from NRO but took no time to leave his bhai bahi ties in one hour leaving zardari in quagmire.
By the way Ch ifitkahr is representing the Baluchistan since he started his career as lawyer.
