APC in Pakistan is Like Virgin Widow

By Salman Mugsi • Jul 31st, 2012 • Category: Lead Story, Politics, Worth A Second Look • One Response

MQM has started a flimsy and dubious political maneuver of reaching out to all the political parties under the banner of conducting an all parties conference. APC is not new in Pakistan and countless of them have been held by various political and not-so-political parties in the past. Result is nil.

MQM’s APC is about a threat from Afghanistan’s attack on Pakistan. Though it remains to be asked as why they haven’t asked for an APC on Karachi, where on average 12 people are being killed via target and bhatta mafia, land mafia, drug mafia and weapons mafia is practically ruling the city.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmad has also announced an APC in the future in his Lal Haveli and he has vowed to make it a success. Same are the intentions of Imran Khan of PTI, and then there are some other groups who are showing the same intention. Religious parties are also showing interest.

What’s the similar streak among all of them?

Yes they all have been known puppets of the establishment. So is this another tactic by the men on the horseback to use the politicians in yet another critical juncture of our history? Or is it just coincidence that all of them have started talking about their own APCs?
