Thought provoking article!
Amicus do you really believe that the Friends of Pakistan
would really come to our rescue? The pledges made during
the summit are nothing short of diplomacy in order to keep
us engaged in fighting the so called war on terror and play our
role as a frontline state in this war. At the end of the day we
will lose more as compared to the help we get from FOP!

Certainly the FIA has failed to prove the allegations against
the accused persons in the money scam case and the directors
of the company who are businessmen not criminals have been
Incarcerated for more then a year now which has shaken the
confidence of all the businessmen in pakistan!

Only God knows where are we heading to? We can only pray and wait
for a bold leadership which can steer our country from these troubled
Waters.

Pakistan Zindabad!

Pakistan survives on the sweat and blood of its ordinary wiorkers in UAE, saudi arabia etc.Its army supported itself through American supported Drug trade and Afghan occupation which helps in transit dollars thereby creating a vested interest for Americans to stay in afghanistan.
If pakistan knows how to spend the dollars for welfare of ordinary pakistanies, then there is no need for Luger bill

An excellent insight Amicus.
For all of us unable to understand the complex issues of our economy this effort by you is highly commendable. I personally feel that the way you have explained the entire scenario will indeed give us better insight. Does is not seem that a lot of people and certain institutions found KKI and other exchange companies to be excellent scapegoats for all their technical and in some cases fundamental mistakes and misjudgments. Also since the action against these companies affected even if in some small way just about ever sphere of Pakistani Society the rumors of illicit intentions by some in the administration are also circulating. Kindly share your thoughts on that as it would help us clear alot of those maybe wrong perceptions.

A good read! Amicus can't agree more, Our beloved country since it's inception has
faced serious lack of leadership and that precisely resulted in various issues troubling
us till today. Whether we debate our foreign policy fiasco or we disect our monetary
policy every time our so called leaders have burdened us with their on personal agenda
, never ever they thought that we should tighten our bellies and stop begging from donors
like IMF WB!

If KKI,Sahara and other exchange companies under so called investigation
were involved in money laundering business or hundi hawala business what were
our expert investigators doing when all the loot of our corrupt leaders were swiftly
transferred to other havens! ......till today they have failed to even come up with the
against the accused money exchange companies already one of the directors of a company
is out on bail.

A question which pops up why this investigation being conducted when eveyone knows that
Never will the names of the people who transferred these funds will be made public coz
These companies are only the facilitators the real culprits should be taken to task!

Lastly where are we heading to? Sorry to say no where coz untill unless accountability across the board
We are heading no where! As a patriot I can only pray for prosperity of my beloved country!
Long Live Pakistan!

I remember Rehman Malik (Interior Minister) then interior advisor was addressing a press conference and saying that he has successfully controlled the dollar rupee parity bla bla bla.... It was a joke to the nation..... I believe nobody from SBP was even ready to face the media at that time so RM took the solo flight. There is no law under which they can stop exchange companies to export dollars. Still "culprits" are not charged after so many months..... one can understand the reason..

Difficulty in outward hundi is hindering importers in under-invoicing.....on one hand it is good that import duty revenue will increase...but on the other hand import bill will increase....so choose which option is better for govt in current scenario............

As far as Mr. Shaukat Tareen, he is in troubled waters.... His suggestions and reforms on few issues had already been rejected and a few more will force him to leave the government…..

Lastly ….where we are heading….. As a patriot I can say SUB THEEK HO JAI GA… Pakistan Taraqi ki rahoan per hai… Pakistan Zindabad……..

But practically speaking we are going very fast to make century of rupees for a dollar…may be before next budget or till the end of 2010. IMF hai na..... Who cares in government that debt rises to $50 billion or $80 billion…. Bharna kis ko hai !!!!!!!!!

God Bless Pakistan
