Shireen,

Nice article, I thought at one point or the another you will mention that all this happening in Pakistan has something to do with India and has some Indian hand in it. Even though you have not mentioned it directly but you have hinted to that, I guess.

Now coming to the topic of article it says that Pakistan should stop taking things from US and should stop acting like its puppets. But if you see history, after the takeover by first dictator of Pakistan, Pakistan has always been running behind US and its money. During the cold war you helped US to boot out Soviets' from Afghanistan, then after that you helped them with people to fight a war in Afghanistan. Since then you have been running around and behind US for want of money to help run your country.

Pakistan has never tried to look internally for growth and stability, it has always looked at either the US, or the Saudi's or the China for support and funds. Which were the problem starts. Had your earlier government and dictators thought on this policy, and made necessary movements the current situation would not have arisen.

Since the first dictator Pakistan's rulers have tasted easy money and are now habitual to that. They don't care about the country or its people all they look at is how they can get money inside Pakistan so that they can fill their own pockets. Asif Ali Zardari has so many cases of corruption on him, Nawaz Sharif has huge properties outside Pakistan, from were do these guys so much of money to build such empires, when the people from their own country are not having money to buy basic goods for survival.

Your politicians and rulers have created this problem for you. They were never interested from improving the lifestyle of people in Pakistan by providing education, health support, and other basic facilities.

Dear Prof mazari,
When you call the real problem as "US OCCUPATION OF AFGHANISTAN". One can easily see the myopia of socalled strategic thinkers of Pakistan.
There was no occuaption of Afghanistan before 2001.Infact after Soveits were driven out by socalled Taliban (as you rightly call them old but trained by CIA/ISI,SAUDI MONEY) it was ruled by your proxy the taliban.Only 3 nations recognized it.UAE,Saudi arabia and Pakistan.Infact it is the basement of Saudi arabian embassy which used to function as HQts of Osama Bin Laden's alqueda. There should not have been any problem for pakistan with their proxy ruling Afghanistan and no US OCCUPATION. But your proxy attacked US mainland.(Gul says it is RAW and Isreal operation!!!)Even after Taliban routed and puppet Karzai was installed, very cleverly Saudi arabia diverted US forces to occupy Iraq(oil as bait). But your ISI trained Haqqani brothers,Gulbudin Heketmayer,Fazullah of Swat(they are old ofcourse) are the ones now killing US forces.
You call the drone attacks as the one which is causing enemity amongst Pakistanies as if they love yankees out there.Zardari,Musharaff,Kiyani, nawaz sheriff and seminarists like you call for stoppage of predator attacks. But why? You never show that much unity when the centuries old Mosque and 100 innocent worshippers were killed in Peshawar.
Infact Saudi arabia is even offerring "stop killing the yankees, you will be allowed to kill the infidels in Kashmir" to "moderate Taliban" like Fazuallh who flog women and dig out dead bodies to hang in pakistan. You are all getting to a stage where you donot see TRUTH. This is what happenned to red Mullah Bhashani in Bangladesh.Saudi funded and ISI trained jihadies are enemies of world is recognized by civilized world. Hope you seminarists recognise this TRUTH.
