A conversation is a dialogue, not a monologue
By Dawar Naqvi • Dec 15th, 2008 • Category: Politics • One ResponseA conversation is a dialogue, not a monologue.
That’s why there are so few good conversations: due to scarcity, two intelligent talkers seldom meet.
On 5th of December 2008, Richard A. Boucher, US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asia,
called on MQM chief Altaf Hussain at the MQM’s international secretariat in London and discussed with him matters relating
to US-Pakistan relations and terror attacks in Mumbai.
Altaf Hussain is a top most leader of the third largest party in Pakistan and the only Party which represents middle and poor class.
Historically Pakistan democratic structure is running by land lords, same families and rich industrialists.
MQM started new way in Pakistani politics and brought people in the parliament from poor and middle class.
By himself Altaf Hussain or his any family member have never desired to become Prime Minister, Governor,
Chief Minister, Member of Parliament, Minister or Mayor.
Karachi is a largest city and financial center of Pakistan,
Karachi is also a main sea port of Pakistan.
Karachi produces 70% of country’s revenue. Karachi is also called Mini Pakistan.
Through elections and popularity Karachi is always ruled by MQM.
MQM is the most popular party in urban Sind.
Some times Karachi is also targeted by Islamic extremists.
Pakistan Army and NATO forces are doing operation against extremists in the northern part of Pakistan.
As a result big quantity of Taliban forces move to Karachi.
Now Taliban is planning to control Karachi so they can spread their network across the region.
This attack on Indian soil could be planned by Taliban who moves to Karachi from northern part of Pakistan.
American influence in Pakistani politics is not unseen.
As Pakistani American citizens we are very thankful for Mr. Richard A. Boucher to understand importance of Mr. Altaf Hussain in a Pakistani politics.
This meeting will help both leaders to bring up peace and harmony in the region.

Totally agree. I hope one day the message of MQM will spread across the country and we can get rid of the feudal system and elite families. The establishment has always stood in their way thru security operations, media trials, and creating May 12th kind of events to isolate and restrict MQM to urban Sind.
