14th August : Have a Great Day

By Muskan Hina • Aug 14th, 2009 • Category: Politics • 4 Comments

For Pakistanis, the 14th August is a day to reconnect with loved ones, to remember our history, and to renew our commitment to democracy, tolerance, and justice. This is the day in history, which has given this motherland to live our lives without any fear and without any impediment.

We Pakistanis have been through worst of the times. We have endured worst of terrorism and every kind of crisis in the previous years. We have suffered through four dictators and we have suffered through corrupt politicians and fuedual and bureaucracy. We have been the victim of judicial doctrine of necessity and we have been bitten by yellow journalism.

But we stay together and we are still alive and kicking. We, the citizens of this great country look forward, towards a better future. Our fates and our fortunes are intertwined like never before.   We all share responsibility for working together to ensure a more peaceful and prosperous future.

Our message on this day is peace and tolerance.
